Fees

Fees:

The U.S. Department of Commerce, MBDA has determined that the fees for the MBEC's services should be based on a $100 per hour rate. This is heavily subsidized by the MBDA, from 40 to 90%. The level of subsidy is based on the last year's gross revenues of the minority business. In some cases, fees may be further subsidized by a strategic partner of the MBEC or may be waived, at the discretion of the MBEC's Executive Director, and based on the business owner's ability to pay at the particular time the service is being proposed. Fees are payable incrementally, and in advance of service provision.
Initial consultations are free and MBEC consultants will perform site visits to accommodate the business owner who cannot leave his/her business to attend an appointment. MBEC consultants also will perform site visits to conduct various other types of business evaluation procedures on behalf of the client.
The main purpose of the MBEC is to ensure that minority entrepreneurs are assured quality management and technical assistance services so that they may successfully participate in the free enterprise economy of the U.S. as well as in the international marketplace.
