Eligibility Criteria:

Business owners eligible for assistance under the MBEC Program are:
1. African Americans (Members of the African Diaspora)
2. Puerto Ricans
3. Americans of Spanish Descent
4. Aleuts
5. Asian Pacific Americans
6. Asian Indians
7. Native Americans
8. Eskimos
9. Hasidic Jews
The minority-owned business must be at least 51% owned by ethnic minorities, must be located in Miami-Dade, Broward, or elsewhere in Florida, and must be a for-profit entity. The primary geographic target area are Miami-Dade and Broward Counties. However, based on the size and scope of the project, the MBEC may determine that it is feasible to extend its services to MBEs outside of the primary target area.
