Since 1982, the U.S. Department of Commerce - Minority Business Development Agency (MBDA) has operated the MBEC program as its approach toward providing general and specific business assistance, counseling and training to help establish, maintain and grow eligible minority business enterprises (MBEs). The MBEC will provide services in various disciplines to MBE’s, in particular those that are poised for rapid growth, primarily those MBEs located in Miami-Dade and Broward Counties, as well as qualified prospects in other parts of the State of Florida.

 

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Miami/Ft. Lauderdale Minority Business Enterprise Center (MBEC) is to increase the opportunity for ethnic minorities to participate in the free enterprise system through the formation, development, preservation and growth of competitive minority-owned businesses. The MBEC executes its services with a professional, results-oriented approach, and a strong commitment to customer service, courtesy, product quality, and the building and strengthening of local partnerships for greater impact on minority business development and growth.
